Most Reverend Keith J. Chylinski

b​ishop Keith J. Chylinski, a native of Schenectady, NY, was born on July 23, 1971. After a couple of moves during childhood, he attended Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA and then Temple University, Philadelphia, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree. He spent several years as a parish music director before entering priestly formation at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood, Pa. in 2001. There he earned a Master of Divinity degree in 2006 and a Master of Arts degree in Theology in 2007. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia by Cardinal Justin Rigali on May 19, 2007.

After five years in parish ministry Bishop Chylinski studied clinical psychology and received his Master of Science degree in 2014 from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences in Arlington, Virginia. That same year he was appointed to the faculty of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. During his tenure, he offered many conferences to seminarians throughout the country, focusing on an integrated approach to human and spiritual formation. In 2022 he was appointed rector of St. Charles, and oversaw the historic transition to its new location in Lower Gwynedd, Pa.

On December 8, 2023, he was appointed by Pope Francis as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Titular Bishop of Gunela. He was consecrated on March 7, 2024 by Archbishop Nelson Pérez at the Cathedral Basilica of Ss Peter and Paul. He is currently entrusted with pastoral care of Episcopal Region II of the Archdiocese, which encompasses the 45 parishes of Montgomery County. He also has administrative responsibility for the Ministry of Catholic Education, overseeing all diocesan high schools, grade schools, and schools of special education.
