Here’s an overview of the application process for women who will be 21-35 in June 2024:
  1. Create an account in our application portal to fill out the application. It should take 45-60 minutes to complete, and you’ll be able to save and come back to it if you’d like.
    • In the application, you’ll be asked to provide demographic information, information about your faith history and current faith activities, hobbies, and answer 3 short answer questions. The questions are below, so you can start thinking about your answers.
      • Why are you drawn to apply for the Forum? What do you hope to gain from your participation?
      • What do you perceive to be your greatest strengths and areas for growth? How have you grown as a leader through both?
      • We believe that Catholic women are strongest when they integrate their walk with Christ into their leadership development. During the Forum, there will be opportunities to discuss:• harmonizing personal faith with professional growth
        • your spiritual journey and need for mercy or healing. What value do you see in having these kinds of discussions?”
  2. You won’t need to provide a full Action Plan proposal yet, but we will ask about your idea for an Action Plan. A GIVEN Action Plan is a new initiative that serves others and is launched within a year after your participation in the Forum. You’ll get lots of support in developing and implementing your Action Plan throughout the program of Forum + Mentoring. For examples of some past Action Plans, visit this page or read alumnae stories.
  3. You’ll need to ask someone to provide a recommendation letter on your behalf. The letter may be submitted by someone who knows you in a professional or mentorship capacity, such as an employer, professor, priest, campus minister, or spiritual director.
  4. You’ll have the opportunity to request a scholarship, if needed.
Then, submit!  We’ll review your application and send out acceptance notifications in January.
  • Accepted applicants have the chance to meet with an Action Plan Strategist from the GIVEN Network, learn more about their core motivations, and receive resources to prepare for participation. They will submit a registration form with their full Action Plan proposal, specialty selection, details about participation in the Forum, and a $700 registration fee.
    • Through the generosity of benefactors and philanthropic foundations, the GIVEN Institute has been able to subsidize the cost of the leadership Forum and ongoing programming. Participant contribution to the Forum includes a registration fee of $700 and the cost of travel. Your registration fee includes food and lodging as well as Forum programming and dedicated one-on-one mentorship from August 2023-May 2024.
Please see Forum FAQs, the current schedule and speaker lineup, and more information on this page.
Being part of a GIVEN cohort is a transformational experience that invites you to deepen your identity in Christ and activate your unique gifts in service. We’re looking forward to receiving your application!

Mentors, both lay and consecrated women, support the young women who attend the Leadership Forum. The mentors are available throughout the Forum assisting in a variety of roles such as: small group leaders, spiritual directors, mental health professionals, etc. After the Forum, each mentor works with young women one-on-one for one year to support them as they implement their Action Plans. The Action Plan is each young woman’s initiative to activate her gifts in her own community for the Church and the world. All mentors are faithful Catholics and experienced leaders.  They are eager to help the next generation of Catholic female leaders develop their gifts and succeed in their vocations. Click here to learn more about mentoring with GIVEN. The mentor application deadline is January 31, 2024.
