Mary Devlin Capizzi

Mary Devlin Capizzi joined the law firm of Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP over 30 years ago and has served as a Partner for the past 24 years. She is part of the firm’s Government and Regulatory Affairs Group and a member of the Consortia Management team. Mary advises individual corporations and consortia clients on complex global regulatory compliance, legislative, scientific and policy issues and engages with key regulatory agencies on their behalf. Clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, health, and consumer goods sectors rely on Mary to help advance their business goals and achieve regulatory compliance. Mary has worked with industry leaders to establish and manage a wide-range of collaborative initiatives to progress industry priorities. She leads consensus-building processes and assists in devising and executing strategic goals for these initiatives. A long-time firm leader, Mary has served as a leader of the firm’s health & life sciences industry team, an Executive Partner with responsibility for managing the firm’s regulatory practices and overseeing the firm’s marketing and business development functions, leader of the firm’s inaugural professional development committee, and an elected member of the firm’s governing board for three terms.

Mary received her B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas, and her J.D. from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a fluent Spanish speaker and active in pro bono legal work. Mary has served as a Board member of a number of organizations, including The University of Dallas, Mercy Health Clinic, and The GIVEN Institute. She enjoys hiking, running, photography, and making up children’s stories. Her favorite activity is anything involving time with her family. Mary is married to Joseph Capizzi, and they are the parents of six children — five daughters and one son — and grandparents of three young boys.
