Alice Kraus – Executive Assistant

Growing up in Miami, Florida, Alice first learned to love her Catholic faith through her high school youth group, leading Confirmation retreats for the Archdiocese of Miami, and attending Steubenville Youth Conferences. She studied Psychology with a minor in Religion at Florida State University where she was heavily involved with the Catholic Student Union. It was there that she learned about Life Teen missions through friends who coming back from summer mission assignments were completely transformed by their experience of leading young people to Christ.

Alice served for two summers during college on summer staff and service crew with Life Teen Camp Covecrest. When she graduated from Florida State, she served for a year as a Life Teen Full Time Missionary in Tiger, Georgia where she lived in intentional community, had a daily rhythm of prayer, and served teenagers through retreats and summer camp programming. One of the greatest gifts of her time as a full time missionary was the opportunity to mentor young college women who were serving behind the scenes during summer camp.

Following her year commitment to Life Teen, Alice moved to northern Virginia where she worked for a year advocating for and building lasting relationships with adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. She has spent the last five years working as an administrative assistant for Confirmation and high school youth ministry at the parish level in the Diocese of Arlington. Alice is currently working on a certification through the TOB Institute in Pope St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body which has greatly impacted her own life and healing and has been the lens through which she ministers to young people.

When she is not working, Alice loves spending time where beauty can be found—in prayer, service, good books, art museums, hiking trails, and live concerts. She also loves exploring new coffee shops, singing and playing guitar, spending time with family and friends, and tabling and creating merchandise for her Etsy shop, The Interior Gaze.

“Seeing with the eyes of Christ, I can give to others much more than their outward necessities; I can give them the look of love which they crave.”–Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
