Kathryne (Kate) Fassbender is the Founder and Executive Director of The Hem of Christ, as well as the creator of the Dementia Letters Project. Her work is dedicated to magnifying the dignity of life with dementia through creativity, faith, and the beauty of human connection. Kate is a classically trained musician, visual artist, and theater maker, with an academic foundation in the creative arts therapies and gerontology. She frequently speaks internationally on the topic of faith and dementia as well as holding a faculty position with the Avila Institute of Gerontology. A native of Wisconsin, she now calls the East Coast home. Kate is an alumna of the 2021 GIVEN Forum.
