Elisabeth Showalter

Advancement Officer

Elisabeth Showalter is a lover of Jesus, a wife, and a passionate organizer. Having grown up in Europe and America as the middle child in a faithful Catholic family, ministry and service to the Church have always been an important part of her life. Her childhood dream was to become a missionary in Africa, but the Lord’s plan was a little different. While Elisabeth has yet to make it to Africa, she has been blessed to live as a “domestic missionary” being called to serve in youth ministry, service to young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to Jamaica , to Ireland , and then to GIVEN.

Elisabeth graduated from the Catholic University of America, where she studied Mathematics, Psychology, and Italian. While in college, Elisabeth was privileged to work for GIVEN as their first intern. She went on to work at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington, DC, as a math teacher prior to her current position at GIVEN as the Development and Operations Manager.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful…all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13-16
