Sister Gianna Marie Savidge, RSM, MD, entered the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma in 2016, a month after completion of her Family Medicine Residency in Newfoundland, Canada. Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Sister Gianna Marie is the third of six children. As a religious sister, she has been missioned to Rome, Oklahoma and now Tennessee. In Tennessee, Sister Gianna Marie serves as the medical director of the Saint Mary’s Legacy Clinic, a mobile primary care clinic which is a ministry of the Diocese of Knoxville; together with other sisters and many volunteers, she cares for uninsured patients in 10 different rural communities throughout Eastern Tennessee.
